Data Deletion Instructions
Last updated: July 21, 2026
This page explains how to remove a connected social media account from Recasten and how to request deletion of any personal data we hold about you, in line with our Privacy Policy.
Disconnect a connected account
If you connected a social media account (for example, an Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Threads, or Pinterest account) to a product built on Recasten:
- Sign in to the application or dashboard you used to connect the account.
- Open its connected accounts or integrations settings.
- Select the account and choose "Disconnect" or "Remove."
Disconnecting revokes Recasten's access token for that account. Recasten will no longer be able to publish content to or retrieve analytics from that account after disconnection.
Revoking access directly from Meta (Facebook / Instagram)
You can also remove access independently of any app built on Recasten, directly from your Facebook account:
- Go to Facebook Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites.
- Find the app that used Recasten to connect your account.
- Select Remove.
Removing the app this way also revokes the access token Recasten was using, and stops any further data exchange with that account.
Request deletion of your data from Recasten
To request that we delete data associated with a connected account or your Recasten account entirely, email [email protected] from the email address associated with the account, with the subject line "Data Deletion Request," and include:
- The platform and account (e.g., Instagram handle or Facebook Page name) you want deleted, or your Recasten account email if requesting full account deletion;
- Confirmation that you are the account owner or an authorized administrator.
We will confirm receipt within 5 business days and complete deletion of the associated tokens, cached profile data, and stored content history within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, security, or accounting purposes.
What gets deleted
- OAuth access and refresh tokens for the disconnected account;
- Cached profile information (display name, profile identifier) associated with the account;
- Content and media submitted for publishing to that account, where still retained;
- Analytics data collected on Recasten's behalf for that account.
Content already published to a Platform before disconnection remains on that Platform and is governed by the Platform's own retention and deletion controls; Recasten cannot remove content directly from a Platform on your behalf.
